photographs presented as a constellation, I showcase images that are both old and new, taken over the span of ten years. Drawing from personal archives and reviving the habit of capturing ordinary moments in the places where I resided at different times, the work is a collection of photographs that explore the paradoxical nature of the concept of "here" for someone who comes from "elsewhere." "Here" is a fluid, shifting place—one that is reached and felt, whether visible or invisible. This work seeks to touch on ideas of distance, movement, and the concrete physical environments that envelop people. preparation for the demolition of neighborhoods in Seoul, consisting of large scale apartment complexes from the 1980s. There were efforts made to save some of th trees by uprooting them for transplantation elsewhere. This process involves relocating the trees to temporary locations where they will be "stored" (if they survive th transplantation) before being planted on a "permanent" place. Transforming the materiality of used furniture into a type of plaster, the sculpture appears as a representation of phantom-like presence of those objects that are destined to disappear from domestic and public sights. The process of mould-making serves as creation of negative, which implies the possibility of the positive casts to exist in multiples. H lived in this complex from his birth until his first son was born. The desktop video "Recalling (Memory Machine)" documents a virtual walk taken using google map into the neighbourhood two years after its demolition was completed. The live satellite view shows the construction zone, while switched to a street view mode, it shows how it used to be. Such experience is purely visual, dry, and technical, while it resonates with memory. The discussion revolves around an imaginary situation where they were the only human survivors of the situation and later encountered an unknown being. The production of this video has taken place between 2018 and 2019 in Gwacheon, South Korea, and Toronto, Canada.
