Objects on the Rooftop

Objects on the Rooftop draw from a house situated in the southern part of South Korea, a residence of an old couple. They are my grandparents whose migration from Japanese colonization and Korean War has ended in this place as they have settled and built their house and raised a family of 5 children. As an inheritor of the place as a symbol of familial heritage and myself on a trajectory of migration from South Korea to Canada, by making those piles of objects, I am reflecting on their stories and my experience and attachments to the physical objects and materiality of the house and its surroundings.
